Car pulls to the right. Rear end alignment?
I've got an '84 300D and need some expertise on a tire wear and pull-to-the-right issue.
The car has an annoying pull to the right. It's reduced with some tires, but always there. Recently, I rotated my tires, and when the rear tires were brought forward, the problem became noticeably worse (different tire/tread than the pair previously on the front). So, I took it to a shop to have the alignment checked. They said the alignment was in spec, but that the front tire on the driver side had extra wear on the outside, and the tire on the passenger side showed more wear on the inside. These tires have spent about equal time on the front and rear, I'm guessing about 10K miles.
So, if the pull isn't caused by front end alignment, what else should I check? I've heard that Benz's sometimes need rear end alignment. Would rear-end mis-alignment be a likely cause for my trouble?
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!
