Tires for Comfort

I am purchasing new max performance tires for my CLK500. I want tires that are the most comfortable and produce the least amount of road noise. Performance can take a back seat to ride comfort for now.

The tire sizes are 235/40/18 (F) and 265/35/18 (R)

I am currently sold on the Bridgestone S-03. I also am looking at Nitto 355, Yoko AVS, Pilot sports and PZero Nero.

I live in the Los Angeles area and drive both rocky streets and smooth highways.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I hope you would be the best to answer the question.

Stay away from the yoko avs if noise is an issue, had em and they're loud. Give the kumho asx a look, got em on linc ls (245/40/18) they ride good and are quiet.

depends on the weather
I would suggest that you take a serious look at the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

2004 CLK320
I just installed a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires in 225/45/17 on 17x8 BBS RC rims on the '04 CLK320, and after 500 miles I'm impressed. They are quiet for a performance tire, and the ride is almost the same as the Factory 16" Contis. The PS2s are more precise in handling, better in braking, and overall a fine compromise between performance and comfort. No more wandering either, a slight issue with the factory tires.

I was worried before I purchased them that they would be noisy or too rough riding, but not at all. They ARE afterall a max performance tire, but my wife is very pleased with them - her car. [Texas roads are not too bad, other areas with rougher roads may affect the tire's confort level.]
