Dealer or FireStone!

Ok, guys,

I just finished my Mod. on my 2000 E320, Lowered with Vogtland Springs and Koni shocks, also installed adjustable camber arms at the rear. I have 18" wheels.

Now should take my car to the dealer for 4 wheel alignmennt for $119(one time deal) or should just take to the FireStone for $149 (lifetime). They should all have the laser guided Hunter equipment.
My concern was if I would swapp out my summer wheel in the winter time, put the OEMs back on, would I still need alignment again? lifetime alignment would be well worth it.

Any suggestions? I should tell them using the E55 Spec. when have them doing the alignment.

Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated...

depends on the weather
have either shop use E55 specs and I would probably go to the Firestone shop .... the tech's there probably do alot more alignment than the Dealership does

I would not use the bathroom in a firestone let alone let them touch any car I own.

If you use them good luck having them not screw something up.

you would be surprised where you can find good talented tech's ... now not all Firestone shops or dealerships have talented people working on cars but, many do .... I wouldn't rule out a store like Firestone until you see what their level of competence is ... but, you want to know another good shop for your car in the St. Louis area

Luke,

thanks for the advise, Just dropped off my car noon at Firestone, The tech at this store he did lots of alignment on the lowered cars just like you said. I talked to him about t my new rear adjustable camber arms etc... and not a problem he had plenty of experiences with the alignment adjustment. He asked me do I want the performace or the tire saver. I told him I want my tire wear evenly. So He will adjust the alignment close to the factory spec. and also will tweak some so I can get a little performance out of it and won't wear out the tires. What a great tech! very knowledgeable. I guess I'll find out when I picked up my vehicles tonight.

thanks again!

My experience with firestone is from 4 States. A long, long time ago I used them and after I got through all the problems I said never again. Then every couple of years I would think, hmmmm Firestone is convenantly located let me stop by and talk with them. Every time I went in I was reminded why I did not do business with them. Now I don't bother to stop by period.

Hopefully your experience will be better than mine.
