Help Diagnose my Airmatic Issue

2011 GL 450

I have read many threads and understand how common it is to have issues with the system. I tried to find one with what I am noticing but I didn't see one so I am sorry if this has been answered a 1000 times already. The vehicle is not sitting all the way down, I would say it is in low driving setting, sorry I forget the exact term. When I start my car, you can hear the compressor very loudly now (not a healthy sound either). I'd say it's been loud for about 2 days. It just continues to run and run. Once you start going down the road it will shut off. I have gotten the "Malfunction" with an arrow warning on the display once or twice as well. I have also noticed that I no longer hear the shocks releasing air to lower itself upon parking.

I think the compressor isn't working. I bought the car used about 6 months ago and I was told that all the air shocks had been replaced by them when they received the car. I have watched videos on replacing the compressor and it looks pretty basic, but I want to make sure this is the problem and I am just not sure how to go about troubleshooting.
