C400 Brake rotors and pads change
Hi,
I have a 2015 C400 bought new and driven 75K miles. Both front and back disc rotors and pads need to be changed as per last service. Looking for some insights into the following:
1. Is it ok to get these changed from local shops? Even though the prices vary, all 8 auto shops quoted me at least $500 cheaper than what the dealer's store. The merc dealer quote was 1028 for front pads+rotors and 780 back pads+rotors.
2. Is there a specific brand or options to pick form for disc rotors? If i ask the auto shop to give me "the exact same rotors that the car has now", is this something that they can order online from mbparts.com or something. Basically trying to figure out if I could end up with cheap/unworthy parts by going this route of a local auto shop. How exactly can I make sure I get authentic parts?
