How is S-O3 Tire Marked? "RE 730" ??
He claimed that he had the latest model Potenza tires 225/45/17 and 245/40/17.
I looked at the tires and NO reference was made to S-O3 or Pole Position - nothing IMPRINTED or molded into the tire.
However a seperate paper sticker on the tire had "RE 730" printed on it.
Was I looking at the real S-O3 tire, the best rated Bridgeport Potenza??

"Bridgestone" on the top and at the bottom "Potenza S03" with the words "Pole Position" in a cursive font.
Karl I dont think those were S03's. Bridgestone makes several Potenza models I believe with the S03's being the pinnacle. I just read your post and went into my garage to check my tires and here is what I read:
"Bridgestone" on the top and at the bottom "Potenza S03" with the words "Pole Position" in a cursive font.
I thought something was "fishy" at the "small" tire wholesaler.
Never heard of "Tire model misrepresentation", but here I saw it with my own eyes.
When I get ready, I'll have Tirerack dropship to Goodwear here. I know Brian; he is an ok guy. He'll mount and balance a tire for $10.
Tnx Vic55.

Just out of curiosity how much were those tires? Looking for a set right now for myself.

Bridgestone Potenza 245/40/17 = $159.86
NOTE: Without S-03 marking -
maybe they are beyond S-03, --- way beyond...

I just checked the Tirerack site. This is a RE730 tire, listed for @ $143.- for the 245/45/17.
It's rating carries 4 stars.
"Bridgestone Potenza RE730 - Designed to be a little more civilized than Bridgestone's
earlier Potenza RE71, on the road, the new Potenza RE730 was praised for its ride quality
and noise comfort while delivering "real world" handling that was rated just a little better
than the other tires in the test.
On the track in the dry, the Potenza RE730 offered predictable handling and a level of grip
that allowed it to turn the fastest lap times. In the wet, the Potenza RE730's tread pattern
and tread compound offered traction that inspired confidence and allowed it to noticeably
outperform the other two tires: Dunlop SP Sport 8000 & BFGoodrich Comp T/A ZR."

Yikes! That's one hell of a price if those were really the SO-3. Just checked out Tireracks site and they are about $230.00 a piece.
