I've got a crack in the barrel of my 2015 S550 (W222) front wheel (20" AMG 14 spoke). So now I'm looking for a single replacement wheel. I bought the car used and my wheels came to me in black, but I'm not seeing any stock OEM wheels in black, so I'm guessing these were painted after purchase. Can anyone shed light on what I'd want to look out for when looking for a painting service? I'm assuming these are all done by powder coating? How hard is it to match existing wheel finishes? Any tips appreciated!
For just the front wheels, I believe your part number is A222-401-04-00 with colour code 7X72. Please confirm your part number by looking at the back of the wheel but I believe the colour code should be correct. I am sure you are already aware but the rear wheels have a different part number as the specs are different, thankfully you don't have to replace any rear wheels so that is good.
Looks like mine are A222-401-05-00. Which is the color code?
Could you please send me an image of the front of the wheel as well, trying to determine if the colour is in fact like you said it was painted, for the year you supplied me and the model S 550, the colour indeed doesn't seem like it match or was made available. I am wondering if these wheels were from a different vehicle altogether. It would help if I have your VIN as well as it provides information such as what wheels and part number it came with from factory but let's see if we can figure it out without it.
Nevermind, no need. I happened to came across another thread that you replied on when browsing the forums, nice looking car by the way. The paint does look kind of aftermarket, I am afraid you will need to paint it after all. Sorry I wasn't able to help out.
