E420 Wheels on a C230K - bolt length question

I want to mount 16" E420 wheels on my C230K. The clearance and bolt pattern is fine. The bolt length is the same on the E420 and the OEM C230 wheels but when you insert the bolt into the E420 wheel it extends between 3/8 to 1/2" more on the inside of the wheel. I understand that if bolts are to long there can be damage especially in the rear where the emergency brakes are. Can these be used safely or do I need shorter bolts?
