Is it possible to put 225/45-17 snow tires front and rear with the stock 05 staggered rims? Or I have to keep the staggered setup?

Thanks in advance.

225/45-17 will fit both the front and rear wheels but, it is not the best idea due to the differences in sidewall deflection rates

16's won't clear

Luke, if I have to use the stock 17" rims for winter, would you recommend I get staggered 225/45-17 and 245/40-17 LM-22 (I believe only Bridgestone make 245/40)? Or I should use 225/45 all around with stock rims?

for your OE wheels go with the staggered LM22's

Luke,

I was under the impression that a staggered set-up is not optimal for winter driving? Wouldn't it cause easier oversteer on bad roads? I am having the same dilemmas on my '04.5 W203. Right now I am running AMG 17's in a staggered set-up. My winter options were going to be Mille Miglias w/ 225/45/17 M3s or how about this.....

ASA ST4s w/ 225/40/18 LM-22s. In the spring I can put the 18x9 on in the rear w/ some new summer treads.

that is why I recommend changing the wheel so that they are the same size
