Front to Rear Tire Diameter, Does it Matter?
I'd like to get some all weather tires for my car but the ones I want aren't in my size.
Is it okay to change the diameter ratio from front to rear on the CL63?
The only reason I'm asking is because I know these cars come with some heavy computer programming built in and I don't want to mess anything up.
I had a BMW race motorcycle that needed an ecu flash, just to change from 190 to 200 tires in the rear, for traction control to work properly.
I'm just making sure the Mercedes isn't as finicky before I buy tires.
Here are the stock sizes and diameters:
F = 255 35 20 Diameter = 687mm
R = 275 35 20 Diameter = 701mm
The tires that come in my size:
F = 245 40 20 Diameter = 704mm
R = 275 35 20 Diameter = 701mm
I know the CL550 came with the same tires front to rear so I don't think this should be a problem, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Thank you for the help!
