AMG Wheels - rough on inside
I've just been lucky enough to find and purchase a spare set of AMG std. staggered wheels in perfect condition ($900). I plan to use these with a set of summer tires and retire (no pun intended) my present, somewhat-curb-rashed wheels to winter tire use.
The painted surface inside the 'near-perfect' rims is pretty rough ... not so much the casting but seems more like grit in the paint. Brake dust on this particular surface is very hard to remove.
In prepping these wheels, would it make sense to sand, repaint and wax this surface to help it clean more easily, or is it rough for an actual purpose?
Thanks for input
