I went with the less popular 20mm. I heard this makes the wheel sit further out, which is what I want. I also heard 20 might have a deeper lip, which is what I want. Did I make the right choice?
what are you talking about?
Seems like this belongs to an existing thread to understand what you are discussing... I am guessing backspacing but way more info required.
Like what car and stock wheel size etc.

Wrong. The smaller the offset, the further out the wheel sits. A 20mm offset pushes the wheel in compared to a 35mm. If you want a deeper lip and a more aggressive, flushed look, you usually want a lower offset number. You might have gotten it backwards.

20mm vs. 35mm offset in wheels means the 20mm offset wheel sticks out further (wider stance) and sits closer to the fender edge, offering a more aggressive look, while the 35mm offset tucks the wheel further inside the wheel well, closer to the suspension, providing a more stock or tucked-in appearance, with the 35mm offering better clearance and less strain on bearings compared to a very low offset.Originally Posted by ygmn
