Hey guys as you are all aware Mercedes use R14 ball seats with M14x1.5 threads on the wheels. Recently I purchased about 20 bolts of a seller on eBay claiming that the bolts are used for W211 chassis. Upon deeper research on the topic I came to understand more about different ball seats so I carried on with the order. Fast forward a few weeks later the shipment arrived and tbh the lug bolts looked like they could fit on the wheel (I was unaware of the radii differences). The bolts were installed by a trusted mechanic, torqued to spec, and the car was sent off. The feeling was odd: the chassis’ response was very poor accompanied by wheel vibrations, at which I came to realize that I had to undo the wheels again. Now back on stock bolts and it works wonder. Here’s a quick pic of all the R12 to R14 bolts in comparison (note as the # goes up, the dome of the nut becomes wider and the curve shallower). Hope it helps anyone out there looking for the right lugs!
