Offset for S430 2000

Offset for S430 2000
Can anybody please advise on the offset that would work on S430 yr 2000?
I have a 16" stock wheel and thinking of replacing it with 17". Any input is greatly appreciated.

depends on the weather
31mm - 46mm depending on wheel width but, your car would look and drive alot better if you ran an 18" staggered setup on it like the AMG version of your car

Yeah, I wanted 18" but I heard from many forum members mentioning that 18" may cause the ride to be a bit "harsh & stiff" since there a less "cushions". Therefore I am thinking 17"
Luke, you mention that 31mm - 46mm will work depending on wheel width. Therefore will the wheel specified below work?
Wheel:
Diameter: 17"
Width: 7.5"
Offset: 46 millimeters
Tire
Dimensions: 225/55/17

of course that will fit ... it's the OE sport package wheel
I also disagree with the 18's are harsh comments ... they are firmer but no where near harsh riding ... you can run 20's on that car and they aren't that bad
