Ceramic Brake Pads for MB?

My mechanic friend tells me he has put ceramic pads on several vehicles but he is quite sure they are not available for my SLK55. He says that these ceramic pads are very soft and produce only about 5% brake dust and have one hell of a bite! Does anybody know whether ceramic brake pads are available for my SLK55 and where I can buy them? I am just getting tired of unbelievable amount of brake dust on my front rims!

I will! MB is replacing my SLK55 brake pads after only 1200 km (750miles)! They say these brake pads are defective and that is the reason for the squeaking noises and excessive brake dust!?! How can all four pads be defective at the same time? Great, now I have to brake them in again! More initial brake dust to look forward to!

I know what the problem is, so do a lot of SLK55 owners. It is the front passenger side rotor. It is not directional. Both rotors are the same for the right and left. Therefore one side is backwards! And I hear the noise from that rotor and see more brake dust. I hope ceramic pads would help.

Thumbs up Ceramic Brake Pads-Teufel

From what I understand is if your Rotors are drilled than the Direction is important. Furthermore, the difference in Brake Dust between new pads vs. old pads is negligible. Both mess-up your wheels!!
Since we are on this topic, let me share with you that changing Pads- Brake Pads, one should change Front and Rear at the same time.
