Dented Rim - Break

Dented Rim - Break
Just seeing if anyone else ran into this situation with a wheel/rim repair shop. Need some input and help.
My rim was dented on the outer lip. I took it to a place to get it fixed. Visable damage was just the outer lip. Recieved just a plain invoice for it. No disclaimer or disclosure on the invoice stating the risk of it etc. Tech guy straighted out the outer lip but upon removing the tire, the inside was dented also. he applied some pressure trying to push it back out, the barrell cracked.
repair shop is saying it is my fault. they dont need to pay for anything or reimburse me for the rim. is this true? help!

depends on the weather
it's very similar to when you beend a paper clip back and forth until it breaks ... it's called metal fatigue and does happen .... most shops will explain that this is a possibility .... buy a new wheel
