uneven tire wear

Hello guys, sorry its been a while since a post, I am experiencing uneven tire wear on the extreme outside of the front tires, could be because of aggressive driving, but now I need to replace them because they are worn out although there is still about another 5k miles left in the total tread, and a total of 18k on the tires. Any theories?

Either you are in the turns all the time in your car or the alignment is bad. Is the tire wear on each tire on the ends of the tire or just the outside part of tire toward the fender?? If it is on both ends then you may have an underinflation problem but if its just on the outer part (fender side) which I think is what you said then you have positive camber which is an alignment problem. You may be able to compensate for the wear on the fender side if you overinflate your tires a little which will wear in the inside more. 18k miles on an E55 is good wear though.

My tires wear unevenly because I have way too much fun with my car. To compensate run your tires at 4 psi higher than recommended by MB. While you can't rotate tires from front to back (staggered setup), you should be rotating them from left to right. Just hope you don't get a bonehead at MB to do it. My directional tires were facing two different ways the first time I had it done.

Wear on the individual edges, be it outer or inner, could come from excessive toe-in or toe-out respectively. I have consistently found that shops put too much toe-in on Mercedes and the outer edges wear far too early. Camber usually causes more of a gradual wear pattern from one edge to the other.
