PS2 vs. "run flat"

I have a 2004 E55 with TPMS. I'm going to get rid of the contis that came stock on the car. I've read most of the posts that rave about the Michelin PS2s.

My question is: Are there any "run flat" tires that I should consider before going with the PS2s? (The run flats should be comparable to the PS2s; my primary issues are perfomance and road noise.)

Thanks, Mark.

depends on the weather
runflats would not offer the performance or ride quality of the PS2's because of their stiff sidewall 'runflat' design

Thanks for the response. I thought as much.

The reason why I asked is that I caught the end of a segment on "Fifth Gear." They were testing a run flat tire and seemed surprised by the performance of the tire. However, because I caught the end of the segment, I didn't get the name of the manufacturer. For all I know, the tire that they were testing might not be available here (USA). (Fifth Gear is produced in Great Britain, I believe.)

Anyway, thought I would ask. Thanks again.
