Question for Luke, 40 or 45?
I am considering the ASA ST4 18x8 wheels. Tire rack suggests 245/40/18 tires. Wouldn't this shorter sidewall make the tire/ fender gap greater? I do not want low profile tires. I would prefer the 245/45/18. Are the ASA ST4 offered in 17 inch? If so I would stay with the stock tire size. Thanks

the original tire on your E500 is 25.7" in diameter ....
the 245/40-18 is 25.7" in diameter ....
the 245/45-18 is 26.7" in diameter ....
245/40-18 is the correct size

LUKE, The owners manual as well as the 2003 MBZ brouchure states 245/45R17 95H as the tire size. I have looked at other 03 E500 sport and non-sport some have 40 series and some have 45. To keep the same tire/fender gap which size should I get? Thanks again.
