XL designation on Y rated tires

I have an 05 E55 and would like to upgrade my rear tires to a slightly wider tire. OEM tire is Conti 265ZR3518 and I would like to go to a 275ZR3518 Michelin PS2. I have however noted in the Michelin literature that there is a XL designation on the OEM MB tire/265 and not on the 275. What does this mean? Are the Michelin 265 and 275 equivalent in strength, durability and quality to one another? One other thing, the revs per mile are slightly different. Will this change my odometer reading significantly?

Thanks for any info on the subject

depends on the weather
the W211 E55 needs an extra load rear tire ... I would not recommend the 275 since it is only a standard load tire
