Need advice with lug bolts for new rims!

Hey guys,

First, sorry for anyone who read my first posts I'm new and inexperienced. I've done my research so I'm getting there.

But I was wondering if anyone could advise me as to whether I would need new lug bolts or studs for a set of wheels I'm buying. The rims are 18x8 both front and back (can't afford to stagger them ) and have a 45 offset 66.6 bore. I'm looking to put them on my 02 C230 coupe, would I be able to use the bolts that come with the rims if I use 8mm spacers??

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

You'd need "cone seat" bolts most likely if they are not Mercedes wheels that utilize the "ball seat" bolts. Just email the person or company that is selling you the wheels to check which type of bolts they are. Then when you have them mounted and balanced, any wheel place will fit the correct bolt length to them for you and you're all set!

Whether or not you need cone seat bolts (as the previous poster mentioned) depends on the wheels and what type of bolt seat they require. The other major requirement, however, is that they need to be longer by 8mm than the OEM bolts if you're going to be using 8mm spacers, so you'd need 35mm long bolts with whatever seat type the wheels require.

Personally I'd stay away from 8mm spacers as they can't be hub-centric by definition (the smallest hub-centric spacer for MB cars that H&R makes is 10mm) and you're likely to experience vibration or even snap the bolts as they're now also supporting the entire weight of the car instead of just clamping the wheel to the hub, but that's just me.
