I separated the Female and Male Velcro strips, cutting and attaching the Female to the roof in several strips 4-5 inches each across the back edge of the roof, and a 10 or so smaller 2 inch size male strips attached to the headliner in the gaps between the previous attachments and support arms. You will use more female strip material as a result. This picture shows Female installation on one side of old fastener, I put it end to end on roof.
