And here’s that screw you’ll remove to completely detach the trim from the seat and airbag assembly. Once you remove this screw (and the one from above that was broken on my trim) you will completely detach it from the seat. That’s it!

Here’s another angle showing another broken tab on my trim piece. This one doesn’t matter. It doesn’t do anything other than add extra strength.

Here’s that other screw you’ll have to remove. As you can see, mine was broken off so as soon as I detached the air bag assembly, the trim piece just slid right off.

To remove the airbag assembly,, there are two screws. One in the rear and one on the side near the seat bottom that you just detached a few steps above. It’s an 8mm screw.

This exposes one of two screws that is holding the trim piece to the seat frame. This screw is hard to remove because the seat backrest covers it. I don’t have a tool to get to it so I removed the air bag assemble. It’s really easy and I show it in the following steps.

Next, remove this little corner trim piece. I used a plastic trim remover tool cause it was too hard with a finger alone.

Again, the seat bottom is now loose and easy to raise. There’s a floor light behind the seat that might come off if you raise the seat bottom too high. Don’t worry, just set it aside and reinstall it at the end once everything is put back together. That’s what I did.

Here’s the second screw near the center console.

My short screw driver almost made it but it was too short for me to crank on it so I used a 1/4” socket bit and inserted the screw bit into it and use a ratchet instead.
