European Delivery

What if I told you, you can purchase your next Mercedes straight from the factory in Germany? And what if I said it would cost you less than buying locally? While it may sound too good to be true, this is exactly what the European Delivery offers you. Check out some of the perks and minor disadvantages to choosing the Euro Delivery option.

1. Savings

There are a few reasons why European Delivery options can offer you better discounts than locally purchased cars. For one, there are no dealer incentives; you are negotiating directly with the factory. Two, no kickbacks; the dealership is not going to receive a special bonus for selling this car, so again the negotiations are nullified. This results in savings that average seven percent off select models.

2. International Perks

Mercedes-Benz isn’t going to let you fly out on just your own dime; they’re a bit more respectable than that. While you can purchase an even more extensive travel deal with them, the basic essentials that come standard include a 1-night stay at one of their select five-star hotels, food and taxi vouchers, two weeks of free international automobile insurance (deductible free) and a travel voucher. Mercedes also lets you tour their Sindelfingen Factory. Still, the best perk, in my humble opinion, is a chance to drive on unrestricted parts of the Autobahn and really see what your Mercedes can do.

3. Local Perks

Free delivery. That’s right, the car is brought stateside to you for free. You can also negotiate home delivery!

4. Other Costs

While the overall costs are a lot less than buying your next Mercedes locally, its upfront can still be a little high. The airline voucher only decreases the cost of a ticket by $200, so you are still looking at paying a solid amount per ticket. If you are staying the full two weeks, you will be responsible for covering the costs of food, entertainment, transportation and gas. While that may sound like a lot, just remember: most customers who have used ED managed to cover all their travel costs with the savings accrued from their initial purchase.

5. Possible Disadvantages

While the perks certainly outweigh the cons here, there are still some things that may concern you. First, any model not built overseas, such as the ML or GL, will not be available for ED. Also, delivery takes up to six weeks and you are expected to pay the first month prior to receiving the car.
