Negotiations on EDP purchases ARE possible

This article states that EDP car prices are not negotiable.
That is incorrect.

The dealer receives a commission on all ED cars.

Since the dealership receives a commission, you can negotiate just as you would for a domestic purchase.

If your ED car has a 5 or 7% discount, it is being paid by MB directly.

Hope this helps.

Bill

Excellent post for those new to European Delivery and just beginning to do their research. Perhaps it should be a sticky.

Sorry to disagree but, it is not an Excellent post. It has several factual errors, the most important one is covered in my Post #3 above.

I'm saying that it's a good intro for someone just beginning to research the subject; something to give a newbie the general concept of MB European Delivery. Posts like yours, as in "Post #3" above, offer clarification and add to any new researcher's accumulation of information.

If you are purchasing a E63 I believe you get a 5 percent discount and no delivery charge.
Does this order effect the dealers allocation?
What is the commission and is the commission large enough to negotiate additional savings?

Not included in regular allocations, additional sale for the dealer.

The dealer receives a commission of 10% of the discounted price excluding some additional items like extended european insurance or "travel packages". So if the E63 had an MSRP of $100K (ex. delivery charge) for a US delivery, your EDP price would be $95K. The dealer's commission on this car would then be $9,500.00 (10% of $95K). EDP deliveries do NOT come out of the dealer's allocation. It is an additional car.
Hope this helps.

I hate the taxes nowadays. Having to pay a tax after you paid a bill sounds so crazy. They are just getting more and more money from you without any remorse. It is unbelievable how thirsty for money people have become. I see new businesses that are not doing good because they have to pay a lot of unnecessary taxes that can be easily covered with the right management. Just getting a paystub maker and putting the right prices on products can easily get your business running perfectly.
