The Alpha Performance E63 AMG Is Stupid-Fast Four-Door Luxury

Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too? Ain’t that what you’re supposed to do? The Alpha Performance E63 AMG gives you luxury, four doors, and massive speed all in one package. As this video shows, AMS’s tuned E63 went to the dragstrip and pulled a 10.7 quarter-mile at 135.78 mph.

The base E63 AMG already starts with some heft, despite weighing 4,200 pounds. It holds a 5.5L biturbo V8 with a 557 horsepower output and a ridiculous 0-62 time of 3.7 seconds with 4-matic (4.2 without). AMS took that, upgraded the turbos, tuned the ECU, gave the turbos top outlet pipes, and added a performance exhaust for that lovely brrrrrrrrrrrap.

The Alpha is slightly quicker than this recently posted 10-second E-Class in Germany, where Vasily Kudenko posted a 10.802 quarter-mile and hit 142.48 in a different run. Kudenko added that the speed test was run on an airport runway with poor wet conditions. This is what he’s running: “5.8 built stroker, CHRA from GTX3076, 2 top mount intercoolers instead of the one stock in the hot V, built MCT, full exhaust from turbos.”

Impressive indeed, but now it looks like he’ll be gunning for AMS’s beast.
