Are you ready for the SLS AMG’s next incarnation? Well, just to give you a sneak peek of what it’s going to look like, here are some spy photographs of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster under no camouflage whatsoever. These images are courtesy of the guys at World Car Fans.
The first thing that will probably catch your eye is the shift to a light brown soft top roof. We must admit, it looks kinds of weird and gives the SLS AMG some sort of a softer attitude. Regardless, that’s probably what Mercedes-Benz was shooting for in the roadster version of the next SLS AMG. Ladies, what do you think? Will this pull your attention away from the E-Class Cabrio which is oozing with Sex in the City appeal?
We don’t have to explain why the 2012 roadster no longer has the iconic Gullwing doors. What you can expect, however, is that it will retain the same 6.3-liter V8 which is capable of embarrassing other supercars on the Autobahn with its 563hp and 650Nm output. With a zero to sixty mph sprint time of 4.0 seconds flat, we assure you that the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster is no softie. It can glide at 192 mph tops while keeping you in control and looking good.
As for its public debut? Probably at the Frankfurt auto show in September this year. The timeframe should give you enough time to plan on leaving for Germany.
