SL/R129: cracks in suspension

cracks in suspension
i have metal fatigue in my front left and right suspension
noiticed it while changing my cabin air filter
the part number on the cracked bit is: 124 320 04 73
anyone have any opinions/suggestions

My suggestion would be to repair it. Since this piece is already cracked, its structual integrity is shot, meaning that it will worsen and the crack will expand. Better fix it before it causes more trouble.

is that part seperate from the entire shock? or
will i have to replace the entire shock assembly
if the second, it may be a good reason to upgrade to hi-perf shocks and springs

Those are the top shock mounts.
If they go,your shocks will go through your bonnet...It has happened before.
Change them now if you can..they are not very expensive.....
