I'm pretty sure they can give the "right" away if they choose. they have an alocation and once it is gone, they can't buy any more. I dunno about MB's policy. I can find out, especially about the AMG part.

I don't know the exact details but I think an employee is able to use his/her discount for family members for up to 2(?) cars a year. At the end of the year I sold my control number to a couple salesmen to help "seal the deal" since none of my family bought cars this year. But I would keep this hush hush if I were you. The salesman is doing you a big favor. Make sure your friend contacts the salesman too.

So what you're saying is that if the friend calls up my salesman and speaks with him etc and being that I've already got 2 MB's from my salesman in the past, it shouldn't be a problem?

i remeber someone that worked for MB, posted that he can buy at employee pricing, but they could not obtain AMG models with employee pricing

From a margin standpoint, the AMGs are just MBs, so i don't see why not. They have even openned up the AMGs to Euro delivery. I'm not saying it ain't so. I'm just saying I ma a phone call away from a cool AMG exec, so why not find out from the horses mouth?

Correct - it does not apply to AMG cars. When you get a control number, the dealer sells you the car at a 12.25% discount off the MSRP. Depending upon the model, e.g., stripped ML320's, they may give you a better deal.
I obtained a control number for my wife's GL. Without the savings, she would not be driving that truck.

yes and no
there is a control number for family and a different deal for friends. the problem is the dealer does not have to comply and even if they do you will not get crap for a trade in. basically the dealer is still going to make money some where i find the deal ends up the same with a trade in control number or not. my wife works for dcstf and i have brought control numbers to dealers a few times and never bought anything. if i had cash it would be perfect.
as far as the lease there are deals for employees and it all depends on your band level within the organization. I can tell you this that 450 is more than we spend and our 0nsurance is included, no down payment and we get a new one each year.

try this
if there is more than one dealership try to work a deal with and one without. we also get them for chrysler/dodge/jeep and for the non mb product we are given the actual invoice and prmosed xx% off that for family.
the real deals do not come through the dealership they come from MB itself. the dealer always has the final say to comply so do not expect to get anything in demand.
i guess i am a little negative about these due to experiece with some chrsyler dealers when I was going to buy a 300 or a Jeep. hopefully you have good luck.
lastly it does not apply to amg or srt cars

209/W210 Estate /W211 modded by MBENZNL
The Real (Employee) Deal is from Mercedes and NOT a dealer its 12% off of MSRP and does NOT apply to AMGs. Yes You MUST have a control number from MBUSA..I Have used it on the 2006 W211 and the 2007 209 It Works...One just needs friends at MBUSA

we have a friend who works at a dealer and my father in law and he got us 2 E500's from him on his control number. Sinc we were buying 2 the deal ended up being closer to 20%. Had to leave the car registered in LA for the first 6 months for some odd reason about the deal we got and with the financing. Ended up changing it from MB Credit and then sold the car back after 7K miles dues to faulty tcu/tranny. And it did exclude AMG models.

Wrong
We get MUCH better deals that are not pruchases at the dealership. I consider these REAL deals as the cost of of the car and ins is much less than you could get a Jetta for. Employee deals go to everyone as I stated earlier some deals go to those at certain levles and above within MB. He mentioned a 450 lease at the top of his email this is something like that. the dealer is always gonna try and make money and as I said if the car is in demand you wont get it becasue they do not have to recognize the control number, read the fine print.
