torque converter
I found one and was wondering if anyone has tried it or has any feed back or ideas

Has anyone actually tested this tq converter on a blown benz? Any documented time-slips before/after?
Raising stall rpm can add heat and not so good for daily driver..... is an aux trans cooler rec with this?
Hami - try it first.... and if you like it... I'll copy
I am just trying to figure out a way where my car would shift smoother
when driving regulary there is no jerling but when i tried red lining it it would shift funny
I was thinking of getting a tranny rebuild before I break it and see how that might help my shifting
other then that I am going to try every way possible to reduce heat soak
About that converter, it'm pretty sure it will give you a good .5 in the 1/4 just like it did with my truck. Had a stock stall of 1500 rpm and went with 3000 stall and gained .5. 60' time will reduced drastically only if you can put the power to the ground though.
It will most likely heat up the tranny so i'd check with Eurocharged if a tranny cooler is needed. I installed a big one on my truck and it kept the temp down. unfortunately we don't have a tranny temp guage so you won't be able to monitor it.
Say goodbye to fuel mileage with this haha!
The trans shifts funny at redline because it's making a pause. it's actually protecting your tranny this way. From what I've read so far. A tranny rebuild if way too expensive!!! try a tranny service coupled the noids you'll be very happy with this i'm sure.
sounds good im going to be in dc this weekend and im going to pass by the shop that worked on my car for a quick follow up and see what other options i have to add on to the car

the only way to get it to grip is with a set of radials which I should be getting sometime soon but for now I am considering the torque converter if it comes with a cooling system heat soak is a nightmare and I need to deal with it.
im not very concerned about gas mileage my car runs an average of 33 mpgs on highway
yea I read that it does that to save the tranny I am seriously considering a tranny rebuild but if there is another option im going for it
i'll have more answers over the weekend
thx for the feed back
A couple questions>>
* do these trans lock-up in OD (5th gear) only?
* or do they lock-up in other gears as well?
The reason I ask is if they don't lock up and you go to a higher stall you will be adding heat in every gear....... killing gas mlg, and adding heat all the time.... not soo good for cruising highway speeds.
If the car is a dedicated weekend toy, track car... not for highway... then go for it.
Very interested in what you find out, and your new track times.
I'm thinking your next week link will be rear axles.... if you run the high stall with big hp/tq and slicks..... I doubt the car will hook up with drag radials with 400-450 rwtq and the higher stall convertor.... but we'll see.

So high stall is all good for daily driver based on this...... because it locks up above 2nd.... so same as stock mlg in those gears.

after that I noticed on long drives my mpg was hitting higher numbers so every long trip I took I would reset the the trip logs and take a picture of it when I get there
well I am very worried about heat specially that I am shipping my car to the middle east soon and its very very hot there
the car wont be be my daily driver but I will be taking it on long drives on the highway and I dont want to risk any heat issues I already lost a car before because my engine was over heating but at the moment I am trying to figure a way to get rid of the pause between shifts while redlining before I take it back to the track
And if I hammer it like a child.... it get's 14-15mpg
To keep on topic if anyone needs a TQ converter for a core charge or simply not to create down time of removing yours I have one if needed. Make offer if anyones intersted I'll let it go cheap. From 98' C43.
You will then be ready for a new cam
