The new 2013 Mustang is
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...-upgrades.html
Give me an order sheet please I will take a red or white vert with the track package, Recaro's, 14" big brake brembo kit, manual tranny, and monster sound system
The current 5.0's were rated 412HP from the factory but were underated. Crank numbers were closer to 425-430HP. Full exhaust and tuned 5.0's are making around 430rwhp, and only weighing around 3500lbs, with slicks guys have them in the low 11's right now.
With the 2013 coming out at 420HP, just add a Boss Intake manifold (30rwhp), full exhaust and a tune, and you could easily see a 10 second daily driver at around 450rwhp

Suppose to be under 30k. I'm still a diehard chevy fan, I'd like to see a comparison of the new Camaro ZL1 and a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

NO doubt the ZL1 is going to be a contender, I would like to see that porker loose some weight though. As of right now, the SS has nothing on the 5.0, bolt on to bolt on. Majority of that can be contributed to weight difference. I would imagine the ZL is going to be close to the CTS V stats in terms of track times.

Interesting you brought this up, I was just checking out this completely NA 318CI 5.0 Coyote Mustang that ran a 9second quarter!!!! The new Mustang is very interesting! They made over 550 RWHP on Heads, mild stroke kit and a Tune.

4.88 gears in that coyote, damn it must have revved so fast. You can see daylight under the fronts too Thing came in at just 3000lbs, so around 500lbs were shaved off. Only interior mods seem to be Kirkey seats, no other gutting but rather lightened K member and other aluminum pieces.

I was just reading about the new 2013 GT500 coming and I think I have found the car to add next to my 03 Cobra in the stable!!
http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/15/2...straight-from/
There are guys already making 1000 rwhp with twin screws with the current 5.4L in the 2011, this new motor is a 5.8 with variable intake and exhaust valve timing!!! As long as it is under $60k it will be a winner

A SL65 AMG will absolutely get crushed by the 2013 GT500 at the strip. It is coming with the TVS blower from the factory, with that been said, the current GT500's which have the TVS blower, 2.65" pulley and some exhaust work are around 650rwhp. Now the 2013 will come out with 100HP more than the 2011, so given the same mods to the 2013, it will easily top 700rwhp. With a built solid axle outback that Ford will outfit it with, add slicks and skinnies, and you will have a mid 9 second car.
No way the current SL65 can match that time. Heck, they are saying it is the first production mustang that will be able to hit 200MPH from the factory. There is no limiters on the car, so a modded one should make short work of reaching that MPH! They also decided to step down the rear ring and pinion to 3.31 for better high ends pulls

Just the Facts:
Ford claims the 2013 Shelby GT500's 650-horsepower supercharged 5.8-liter is "the most powerful production V8 engine in the world."
Top speed is more than 200 mph.
The 2013 Shelby GT500 goes on sale next year.
LOS ANGELES — The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, which goes on sale next year, sports a supercharged 5.8-liter V8 and a new optional Performance package. Ford says the aluminum engine, which is rated at 650 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, is "the most powerful production V8 engine in the world." The 2013 Shelby GT500 debuts this week at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Remarkably, the latest edition of the Shelby GT500 has a top speed in excess of 200 mph — thanks in part to its 3,850-pound weight — yet somehow manages to avoid the dreaded federal gas-guzzler tax.
Ford said it has reworked virtually every key component of the driveline, fitting a larger, more-efficient TVS supercharger, new cross-drilled engine block and cylinder heads, updated cam profiles, a new carbon-fiber driveshaft and upgraded clutch, transmission and axle.
To handle the additional torque while still delivering reasonable fuel economy, the six-speed manual transmission was regeared and beefed up.
The optional Performance package bundles SVT-designed Bilstein electronic adjustable dampers and a Torsen limited-slip differential. An optional Track package adds an external engine oil cooler, rear differential cooler and transmission cooler.
Among the additional features on the 2013 Shelby GT500 are a new launch control system, Brembo brakes, revised aerodynamics and new forged-aluminum wheels measuring 19 inches in front and 20 inches in the rear, all with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G: 2 tires.

Craig- It seems that you are really high on this new Mustang, but I see that you didn't give it your "panty dropper" certification !!!!
Nothing says hybrid with that engine !!!

Since you guys are discussing the new mustangs, I have a 2012 auto 5.0 with a Roush TVS blower. The car goes 10.70's at 128 mph on 9 psi of boost and 17" drag radials. Besides the blower and tune the only other mod is an off road x pipe.
The new coyote 5.0's are the king of the street.
Still miss my E55 though....

STEVE, the GT500 typically is more of a briefs or boxers dropper, females tend to view those cars as loud, obnoxious and well, just outright ridiculous. However it totally makes males jaws hit the floor, and often times makes their pants get shorter.
