<<< AMS Stage 2 Performance Package, Now only $1499!!>>>
Hello W209 CLK55 Owners,
AMS is proud to announce it has finally met its price target on the stage 2 Performance package for the 55 AMGs. Since the beginning it has always been our goal to reach the $1499 mark and after 2 years we have finally achieved our goal. With this new everyday low price, the AMS power pulley is now only $499 and the headers only $999. If you would like to buy the performance headers alone, they too have dropped in price to only $1099 w/ free shipping making them the most cost effective performance mod for the NA 55s.
This is the last & final price drop for the NA 55 AMG components before the headers are discontinued before the end of the year. This will be your last chance to get these components before AMS moves on to newer model generations (newer 350s, 550s & 6.3Ls). So for those of you who have been waiting, your time has finally come .
A few changes will also occur with this new price drop. AMS will no longer have group buy offers or special discounts of any kind. The new everyday low price is firm and non-negotiable (so please don't bother emailing for any discounts). Furthermore, due to the extreme increase in international shipping costs (avg $100-200 in shipping alone) AMS will be dropping its free international shipping promotion. However, the free domestic shipping will remain to US continental 48 states.
To order your new Stage 2 performance package feel free to PM/email for more details. Order link below:

Thanks,
~AMS~

I've got the AMS headers installed on my 04CLK55 and they are nice quality pcs. No leaks, good fitment (appear factory quality), and the sound is nice.
Good price on these, good seller.
If only AMS had heads, intake, cams too

Yes.
I installed the ex mods per the AMS rec order:
300 cell 2ndary cats 1st - a nice increase in tone (not loud, just a noticable increase).
THEN
Shorty headers and tune. - Noticeable change in tone and Seat-o-pants.... it revs easier/faster......
THEN
RennTech Carbon Fiber intake box
THEN LSD
I would actually like it to be a little louder..... but I grew up with muscle cars, so I don't really car about being subtle...... it's still WAYYY quieter than the wifes stock C63.... which is TTTTTOOOOO loud for a daily driver IMHO. Unless you're 18 yrs old

Hey betrezra, which LSD did you get and can you tell me how it performs? I think I'm just a few upgrades behind you so I guess you could say I'm copying you, hehe. I've done coilovers recently and about to install an upgraded H&R sway, but haven't sprung for the LSD. I know I need one but I'd like to hear some real world experience from a fellow CLK55er.

Mark I'll PM ya..... don't want to bogart up AMS's for sale post..... some good stuff here for good prices.
We'll have to meet up and you can see for your self.
Would I get much out of the lightwgt pulley at this stage of the game? I presume the lighter rotating mass allows the motor to rev quicker...... is it noticable? Or do most change this out to avoid the factory damper failing and damaging the engine cover? Or both?
Next mods for me n/a - intake port/polish, heads port/polish, cams..... basically following PTE's progress.
..............
I return you to the AMS thread...... (pardon the hijack)>

Hmmmmm
1499.00 doesn't sound like a good deal at all after looking at the German Power Tuning site.
GPT sells their headers ( which look like the AMS headers as I recall them...you can't see them on the new AMS site) for $799.00 plus $49.00 shipping, and the GPT small pulley goes for $399.00 plus $49.00 shipping.
That only comes to $1296, including both shsipping charges combined.
If my math is correct, that's $203.00 cheaper than the AMS $1499.00 stock clearance offer.
I think I would prefer to purchase the GPT products if they are the same.
They also list an "overstock" condfition on the GPT site...is that because all of the stock left over from AMS has been combined with GPT stock?
