Can this be fixed easily?
I am having a problem when my car is running I hear a noise that lasts for about 2 seconds then stops and runs continuously until the car has stopped running. I have included a photo of where the noise is coming from, in the truck on the passenger side of car. Can someone please tell me what this is and if I can fix it myself or do I need to take it to the shop since I am not mechanically inclined?
I am afraid to drive it without causing some damage. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

maybe your central locking pump is sucking air by making noize?
it's located there where you took the picture

Yup, that's the central locking pump. I believe if it's running constantly that means there's a vacuum leak in the system so it runs constantly to try and keep up the pressure in the line. Unless you want to dig around the interior behind the door panels and trunk, I'd say take it in. The only harm that could be done is you burn out the motor because it's running constantly. I'm not sure how fragile the motor is, so if you want to keep driving a lot but don't want to risk burning out the motor I'd suggest pulling out the central locking fuse until you bring it in

The sound is definitely your air pump and it does mean that you have a leak. The air lines run all through out the car so finding the leak may prove to be more trouble than its worth. I would check out all of the lines that are easy to access (i.e behind the door panels to the door locks, running to the front seats, etc...) if you don't find it I would recommend saving yourself the headache and taking it in

I will check behind the front seats since that is the easiest and if not there I will take it to the shop. I remember seeing a DIY fix for the connector in the seats and it didn't look to difficult.

Well I finally found the problems. I looked behind the driver's seat and one of the hoses was not connected. I connected it and still had the problem so I had a buddy come to the house to help.
Found that there is a problem with the passenger side now.
We took the back off the passenger seat and I heard a low hissing coming from just behind the material where the hoses are connected. Now I think there is a hole in the bladder which we will need to take the seat out to try and look at it.
I tried searching autohauz for the bladder but couldn't find it, I guess I will give the stealership a try.

neither of my seats hold air.. my drivers seat inflates and then deflates.. The passenger side doesnt even inflate but it seems like a tube is missing. I havent had a lot of time to deal with it but it would be awesome to fix. I thought the seats had their own pumps separate from the door.. is this not true?

Nope, there is only one pump in the trunk on the passenger side of car.
If you take the back off of both seats, there a couple of phillups head screws at the bottom of each seat, you can see the little tubes with "Y" connectors. You may have these disconnnected and if not listen for air leaking. There is a bladder that holds the air just behind this "Y" connector behind some kind of which material, which either I have a hole in it or this connection has come loose. There are also bladders on the sides which I have been reading that people have problems with these also.
Here is a link I have found.

thats good to know.. my doors lock and unlock just fine (perhaps a touch slow) but the seats are the sore spot. I had takent the back off of both seats when i bought the car to investigate.. My drivers seat (which is the only one that tries to inflate) did have a Y connector loose. I pushed it back on but didn't use a sealant. Are people glueing these connectors back together and if so what type of compound should i use? What my seat does is inflate all the way when the car starts... holds air for a minute or so and then completely deflates. It repeats this process every time i start the car. I bet the seats are way more comfortable on long trips if they will actually hold air.
BTW your link didnt show up.

I have found that replacing the "Y" connector with a new one fixes the problem of the lines coming loose. Keep in mind that the originals are over 10 years old and dried out by now.

I called the dealership and they gave me this P/N for the bladder, 2109100275, with a price of $132 but after looking it up on the internet this looks like it is the bladder for the sides and not the back rest. I guess I will try and take it out and show them to verify the part since they don't have it in stock.
