I am afraid of removing these pieces will do some damages to my interior panels. I need to find a way to remove it safely and unharm.
Matt:
Can you do me a favor? Can you look up in the W202 repair manual to see how do I remove these pieces safely?
Thanks!
I haven't decided to offload these pieces yet, I would like to see what is the difference to have windows tinted comparing to the sunshade. Will let you know if I don't need these anymore!

Super3day,
Yeah, let me see if I can't locate my trusty Haynes Manual. It's in my storage space....some where.
I read a post frmo a guy over on Benzsport that is INSTALLING them after market, maybe he can help too.

Ask Koolvin or MBenz at benzsport...Koolvin is installing the rear power sunshade, and MBenz knows how to take apart the entire car. I'm guessing you have to take apart the door panel to remove the shade...which isn't really too hard to do. If you want, i can scan in the haynes manual for that.

Rear Sunshades
Super3day:
Can you give me the MB Part numbers for your rear sunshades (rear window, left & right)? I want to get a set for my car, and since you live in So. CA, looks like I can get them too. I'd really appreciate your help, thanks.

I don't have the part number, that's why it bothers me. It came with the car when I bought it new. I think they were either installed at the manufacture or the dealer installed them (don't know why if the dealer installed them).
They cost me $550 ($250 for the rear, $150/each for the each side door back in 1997) listed extra on the sticker MSRP as "REAR SUNSHADE PACKAGE".
I heard there are some people at the BENZSPORT.COM try to install them after purchased. maybe they can help you with the part number!
I have seen only 1 with the same "REAR SUNSHADE PACKAGE" in past 6 years, and it was a white C280 (do not know what year). I think it was not very popular in w202 becasue it cost too much.
They are OEM with MB logo all around, so I guess MB must have the part numbers but just don't know if MB discountinue the items yet.

I believe most the OEM parts have the part number written on the part directly, but the problem for me is I don't have a clue on how to remove them completely.
I have called the original dearler for the part number, they told me the rear shunshade paackage was around during the model year of 97-98. Only less than 100 sets of this sunshade were either installed or purchased by the owners during these two years. MB decided to discountinue the items in US in 1999. He told me it fits all w202 without any problem if someone wants to install them after purchased.

Thanks anyway for checking. Since MB discontinued them, I doubt I'll still be able to get my hands on a set. But I'll keep looking. I appreciate your time.

got a great news for those who still like to have a set of the rear sunshade package for w202.
According to the dealer that I contacted with, two years ago there was a customer ordered a set of W202 rear shunshade pakcage but never pick it up, it was sent back to MB southern california parts distribution center, Fontana, CA last year, he forgot to give me the phone number. Maybe check with that MB center to find out if they still have the parts or not.
Good luck!

THANKS!
Thanks a lot for your help, I'm definitely going to look into getting a set! My windows are already tinted, but just for added looks and security and class, I want to add those sunshades...Thanks for your help!

the side ones are easy - just lower the window halfway, pull the shade up so the clip comes off the window, then pull gently on the entire bar of the shade -
The shade should come right off - it is simply held there by a clip in the front and one in the back. I had that on my car for 2 days before selling it.
And the manual rear window shade can be purchased around $80 or so - a lot of dealers still have them in stock. A power one would be much more hassle to retrofit, as you would have to get a new rear deck with the cutout.
Hope this helps.
