Any information on setting speed limiter?
I have heard that in Europe MB's can have a cockpit adjustable speed limiter which could be useful where we have many speed traps. As I understand the feature you set the speed you don't want to exceed and you will not exceed that speed unless you give full throttle or turn off the limiter.

I know all about the cruise control. This is a different speed control. It is an extension of the limiter that keeps our cars from exceeding the maximum speed set by the factory. I believe they set US cars at 130 mph and European cars at 155 mph.

Unless you live in an area like I do you can't appreciate how good it would be to have this speed controller feature. I live in the Scottsdle/Paradise Valley area where there are speed traps everywhere. In this small area they write tens of thousands of tickets every year. The problem is that driviing with the flow will get you a ticket. e.g. In my neighborhood on Lincoln Drive and Tatum Blvd. the normal traffic flow is 47-49 mph. At 51 mph you get a ticket. When you re driving with the flow, (which is the safe way to drive), it is very easy do hit 51.
I use my digital spedometer on my C350 so it is easy to see if I'm getting too close to 51.
If anyone knows if this speed limiter feature can be implimented it would be greatly appreciated. Just think if I could set the limiter at 49 mph. Then, I wouldn't worry about a ticket.

IT DOES NOT change the speed limiter inherent to the car's ECU.

AFAIK and can remember there is a version of the European cruise control that limits the top speed but doesn't hold it like a regular cruise control like we are used to. Sunman integrated it I believe in one of his cars. Pictures of it have also been posted in the W203 forum by MBenzNL I think - slept since then .

I use the speed-limiter more often then the cruise-control. It's an almost
necassery feature over here, f****** traffic-stazi lurking behind every bush.
Good luck with your search.
