Driver seat not adjusting back and forth
I have searched and only found something talking about resetting the Easy Entry feature. Which I think I need to do also. But, I cannot adjust the headrest or the forward/back of the driver's seat with the door control. I hear a double click under the dash when I press the button in either direction. Including the headrest adjust. Sometimes they will work however.
Easy entry feature works when it wants too but doesn't work at all when I actually turn the switch off. I have to leave it in the #2 position and open the door. Same with getting in the car to go.
Any help someone can give me on this would be greatly appreciated. I am going to try the entry reset this evening when I get off work, but the seat won't slide forward at all. Which is my main dilemma right now as I am only 5' 7" with my boots on....lol...and the seat is ALL the way back.

Well so far I have found that the door control module is working fine. Clicking I am hearing when I try to move the seat forward or raise the back of the seat up is coming from under the seat. Thinking that the seat control module is not sending the signal out to these 2 motors. Sometimes it will work but when it starts sliding the seat forward it will only go so far and then stops. Doesn't come near close enough for me to be comfortable driving it.
Went by the dealer and a new SCM is $505 . I DO NOT even care for that place. Next nearest dealer is a good 100 miles away. Found some online new ($180-190) and used ($129). Hate to buy one and it not be the problem.
Is there a possibility that this is something that can be fixed via a reset procedure?

1- Did you check all cable between scm and motors?
I solved my mirror problem. The reason is broken cable.
2- When i bought my car two years ago. Up/Down function of seat didnt work. I removed door panel and cleaned seat kontrol switch unit with Contact Sprey then problem solved.

Thanks afurkan. I read your thread of finding your mirror problem. Excellent job.
1. I am going to try and pull the seat up today and see if I am actually getting power to the motors for the fore/aft and rear seat lift. I would have to say that I doubt both motors would go at the same time. However it is not impossible.
2. I am pretty sure that the seat control switch is working since it seems to be sending signal under the seat where I here the clicking. However cleaning the switch contacts wouldn't be a bad idea at all.
Thanks again.

Haven't gotten the chance to check/test anything yet Merc. Car is still at the body shop getting repaired. They order 4 used mirrors and didn't get the right one either time. They have ordered an OEM one and waiting on all the parts to get here. Today or tomorrow hopefully. Least he could have done is call me and let me know.

Reason I ask swap is cause ONLY the move forward and back doesn't work the up/down on lower seat works as well as headrest and back rest. So maybe it's the motor for that seat that does the forward and back only or does motor work for everything from back and forward as well as up and down?

Can anyone answer if the Drivers/Passenger side seat modules can be swap? Do anyone think it's the seat modules since all other functions work except the seat moving forward and back?

In my case all fuse fine. But upon further study me and found out it's the motor used to move seat forward and back. My friend got it going by hitting the inner motor by the center counsel til it moved doing so a few times where needed cause it stopped. Anyways on last taps he said he noticed smoke so in my case motor for back and forth going bad
