Auxillary Heating System Pictures

Here are a few pictures of the Auxillary heating system. Also known as stationary heating system. Available on the porsche cayenne also! This system is made by Webasto for Benz. I don't have a pic of the acutal heater itself but I will take it later and show you all. The system heats the radiator fluid to warm the interior and engine. Uses 1 Liter / Hour... I think. Remote is used to activate it from 300-500 meters away. Box of hoses below used to attach system to car cooling system. Switch below is mounted on right of shifter and can be used to activate system.

Here are pictures of the new menu in the Instrument Cluster for the heating system. It can be activated via 3 different preset times. Days cannot be programmed unfortunatly.

This is a original Mercedes accessory but it costs a bit. Estimate 2 grand in parts and self install.

The system does not start teh car itself. It warms the engine by warming the radiator fluid and circulates it around with a pump. The heater uses fuel from the gas tank and pump runs off battery. Programmed time is 40 minutes run time from factory.

1.) How hard is this to install?
2.) How much wiring is it - and is it all OEM plug and play?
3.) How much does a Dealer need to do to program and "turn it on"

Thanks!

Very old school...but I've always found this to be a cool option.
