2013 C300 4MATIC Sport sedan
just a few updates
Haven't updated in a while...
Luxury Abstract determined the best wheel specs, I'll be going with a 19x8.5 +35 in front and 19x9.5 +38 in the rear. I'm excited! With the Colorado winter coming up and the build time for a bespoke set of wheels, I don't foresee mounting the new set up until next spring.
The specs happen to be the same as user 04Boxster's setup, if you're wondering what it may look like.
Received my set of Depo projector headlights from USR. I know i said i didn't want to deal with removing/replacing headlights but man, I miss the light output and look of HID projector lights! I opted for a set with their preinstalled HID kit with 4300k bulbs. May switch them out for 5000k bulbs if I'm not satisified with color temp and output.
Also set an appointment to get winter tires for the C, going with a set of GT Radial Champiro Icepro's in 225/45/17 on my OEM staggered Sport wheels. Anyone have any experience with that brand/model of winter tire?
And been using Chemical Guys routinely on the C. They make such awesome stuff! Frequently get comments from my wife, friends and co workers about how clean the car is or how it smells new all the time.

Projector headlights and bumper plugs
So finally got my license plates a few weeks ago. In my state only a rear plate is required so I could remove the front LP holder. After removing it I was left with four unsightly holes. Searched the forums and came across another members' DIY fix. Lic plate bumper plug DIY
Here's a before/after:
For the headlight install I pretty much followed the links in the headlight thread as well as a couple different videos on youtube. Also took allenp99's advice and used some painters tape to help protect the bumper and fenders.
Here they are installed and off.
Here they are compared to OEM halogens
And here's my attempt to capture them warming up and seeing the color temp change to final output.

Car looks really clean, phenom3030. Nice work!
Btw, will have to take your recommendation on Chemical Guys products, I've been looking for some quality cleaning products.
Looking forward to seeing the wheels once they're installed. Any other mods you have on your to-do list?

As far as other mods, I've got an appointment for winter tires tomorrow! Lol.
Other than that, I'd like to find a front lip and get the rear splitters. Just sucks that there's only one type of front lip for our cars. :/
No problems as of yet. I haven't left them on for any period of time though. Ill try leaving them on for a minute or two and seeing if they stick and report back.

And forgot to thank Unique Style Racing for the nifty little valve caps.
Also got my winter tires on! Made my appointment with Discount Tire on Friday since the snow wasn't suppose to be here until Wednesday. Snow started falling last night! And glad I made that appointment because at opening time, DT was packed! At one point the rep's were quoting 4 hour wait times!
Went with GT Radial Champiro Icepro's in 225/45/17 all around. Initial impression is that they're doing well. We'll see as time goes on.

Car looks great! I bet she handles the snow well with those tires. I never knew how important snow tires were until I lived in Boulder for a few years. Definitely try and get out and try the high beams for a few minutes if you can. After buying these once and having to return them I am in the fence about ordering again but they definitely transform the look of the car.

Thanks! Whats your take on the light output of the Diamond visions?
No trouble installing them. Like a moron, I did remove the high beam and install there first. lol. Realized that after I went to turn them on to check them out.
I haven't noticed a dramatic difference. To me it looks similar. I've been meaning to reinstall one of the OEM bulbs to do a night time side by side comparison photo. Just haven't had the chance yet.
In other news, I picked my car back up from the collision center! What Allstate initially estimated to be a $450ish repair turned into a $2000+ job.
Click the photo to link to the original. Not a big area of damage but it gouged the bumper.
I did install my sweet new door pins though!
Here is what the front looks like before/after:

For the new pins, I just screwed the fronts down as far as they would go and for the rears I just pushed them down using just enough force again being cautious to not push them down to hard/far.

I'm sorry, I never gave you a response on the question...and I know it's too late now lol.
I thought light output was perfectly fine, albeit maybe a little less than the regular halogens.
I have 6K HIDs now, with the same DEPO headlights you do...I paid like $700ish total for all the custom wiring and install on all my exterior lights. Lifetime warranty on HIDs and their work though, so the premium price is basically for peace of mind.
I'm not fond of the rims, but your car is beautiful and I respect your taste.

How are you able to have DRL light on with headlights?
