C300 Gas Mileage (W205 4-Matic)
I went from a 2013 C250 which averaged 24 MPG generally, and 29-31 MPG on the Highway.
I have had a 2015 C300 4 matic for 2 weeks now, and am pretty surprised at the gas mileage. I am averaging 19.4 MPG generally, and 24-25 on the highway. Is anyone experiencing similar (low) results?
Granted, I'd rather have the extra 40 horsepower and much faster 0-60 time , and I'm sure a small part of this can be attributed to the all wheel drive, but it's certainly noticeably lower gas mileage for me. I probably am also driving a bit more aggressively since it is still brand new and more capable, but am curious of others' observations on this topic.

Until all the snow and frigid temps arrived, I had been averaging about 27 mpg overall, with some 30-33 mpg highway jaunts. Now, with lots of idling time and snow tires on, my average has dropped to the mid 25 mpg range.

My wife drove ours on a 600 mile trip last week, all freeway, and averaged 34mpg. Ours is a C300 sport, 4matic & airmatic. What do you have your agility select to and how much air pressure are you running in your tires?

I do live in Los Angeles, which is a stop and go city, but I have generally used Eco and Comfort modes with a few stints into Sport + when I can't resist. I did a 14 mile highway trip with little traffic but didn't get above 25MPG. I know I need to give it some more time to fairly evaluate, but these replies are helpful, so thank you!

I average about 27 to 28mpg in my 25 mile mixed highway and stop and go traffic commute around the DC beltway. When I head to the Delaware shore every few weeks (130 mile trip at mostly 55-70), I average 33.5-34.5mpg. C300W4 with sport package.

Damn, I should at least be able to get close to that on highway. I feel like my acceleration is properly modest, my anticipation is better than most (always looking a stoplight ahead). I mostly use Eco, followed by Comfort with splashes of Sport+.

Great topic! I have also noticed very low gas mileage these days. There are three factors that I have yet to rule out :
1. The Cold: Its been really cold up here this last month or two. I also have a van than guzzles like crazy in the winter, so this is what I think might be culprit.
2. Gas: Anecdotally, I have noticed that I get better mileage from Shell gas stations vs others. I think it even has 93octane gas, but I put always 91. In any case, I always seem to get more miles.
3. Engine Temp: My temp guage seems to be rather high after the engine is warmed up. I see it at 85-95deg Celcius when idling at ~1500 rpm. This seems high to me but maybe normal for this engine.

For comparison I get 15 mpg average in my S4 (Supercharged V6 + 4WD) and I broke it in driving it like I stole it (opinions on how to properly break in a car vary, follow the procedures in the manual).
In comparison on average I get 12 mpg in my C63 (NA V8 + RWD) and I broke it in driving it like I stole it.

There are many factors that affect fuel mileage and the numbers that people report for their cars.
In cold climate areas, a winter mix is usually used and it's not known for great fuel economy. Temperature also affects the numbers, as do road inclines. On a slight decline I can post mind boggling numbers, but I can also watch those numbers drop like a rock with even the slightest increase in grade. Speed, wind, and acceleration all have an affect as well.
Reports about fuel economy should really include weather conditions, and particularly note any positive or negative grades on the roads traveled. Unless driving conditions are identical, it's really hard to come up with accurate comparisons. Having said that, any C300 should be able to average around 30 mpg +/- (US) under steady state driving on level roads. In traffic, all bets are off.

Over 1,200 miles of drive during the last month 28 mpg average. Generally, on E C300 4matic
- Northern NJ to just outside philadelphia (90 ish miles each way) 35 mpg using distronic
- Nice weekend / NJ Turnpike / GSP = 34 mpg using distronic
- daily commute 25 miles each way includes the turnpike extension in rush-hour (stop and go - there is one 6 mile stretch I do in 20 - 25 minutes) - reduces my trip which had been 31 mpg me to 25 - 26 mpg.
- heavy turnpike traffic coming home from work, 19-20 mpg using econ (but disable the "A" button because I dont want to burn out the starter prematurely
