You absolutely must test drive a car before buying . Most reports of the C 200 diesel are that it's quite slow . There is also however a C 200 petrol .

I am assuming your in the UK, agree with comments already made re test drive, also don't know what the actual price is your paying, but if in the UK check out CarWow. I had 3 local MB dealers out bidding themselves to get my order. You configure the car you want on their website and then sit back for dealers to contact you. You can either save money on the car you want or get a higher model for the amount your willing to spend.

I have had a test drive it's was from a cold start though the car was alright wasn't as fast as my c180 I'm not to bothered about the speed of it I just don't want to keep filling up petrol I do a lot of driving so the diesel should do me good but is it worth the price I'm paying?

Are you buying, or Personal Contracting?
If you are buying then I would be a little concerned, as the re-sale on the small diesel is likely to be poor, in comparison, as it already has a bit of a reputation for being sluggish.
Just for a point of reference, I paid £36k, just over, if that helps.

If you are playing with your money, rather than MB taking to risk on residuals, then (for what it is worth) my advice would be to cancel the order you currently have, once you have got prices from the varios Brokers, on either: a) Petrol C200, b) C220/250 Diesels. They will all come in below your 40 grand price tag and have better residual values than the baby Diesel.
Good brokers that I have experience of are:
Carfile (used twice now)
Orangewheels
Drive the Deal (just be sure to be aware that the DTD discount INCLUDED the PCP Dealer Deposit Contribution) the others didn't when I was researching.
I used Carfile last time and they threw in driven delivery (I chose not to use this and opted for a transported delivery, instead (£200 well spent) in my view).
All dead easy - go to their websites and spec out your car, then see how much you will save....

Hi
I have the c200 bluetec for my company car....while it can feel sluggish in comfort mode when trying to accelerate uphill or slight incline....in everyday town and country driving it feels fine to me especially when putting it on sport or sport+. I have driven c250 bluetec too and whilst that was faster, i didnt notice too much difference in my normal driving (i.e not flooring it etc).
But I agree with the others...you need to test drive it yourself as you are paying the lions share of it!

2015 C220 AMG Premium Plus Estate (S205)
Get a price off Carwow.co.uk too.
You must have gone to town on the options as well. My C220 Premium Plus estate with poncy paint, privacy glass, and ash wood has a list of a tiny bit over £40k, and Drive The Deal are quoting 36k for it at the moment.

W205 C250 AMG Premium Plus (UK)
I have a c250 AMG Premium Plus, with the 19's, black ash wood interior and privacy glass on order and the total price after some negotiation is £34,900.
£40k for a C200 is the deal of the century..........for the dealer

W205 UK C300 hybrid
The c220 is a significantly stronger engine and the c250 much better tuned (same engine as c220)... I personally wouldn't spend over £30k on a 1.6L
if you're going to spend near on £40k take a test drive in the c300 hybrid .... It's the fastest of the non amg range (plenty quick enough for me) and if you're driving sensibly can do 60mpg.
