Looking forward to it. Wondering if the C400 with this exhaust system produces the crackle sound just like the C450. Will be interesting to hear how it sounds on the C400.

Sorry to disappoint the C400 owners, but whilst the exhaust sound should definitely improve,
it won't crackle like the C450, as the crackle is more than just from the exhaust.

The "Sport Plus" program delivers particularly impressive hallmark AMG dynamics and enhances the emotional appeal: partial cylinder suppression during gear changes by means of a momentary and precisely defined retardation of ignition and injection under full throttle speeds up the gear changes, and can also be acoustically experienced by the driver. The emotional double-declutching function during downshifts and the "exhaust rumbling" in overrun mode provide the fitting accompaniment. The throaty engine sound – a hallmark AMG experience – also plays a crucial role in the most powerful V6 model.

No news from the UK dealer after my email.

Guess I'm abandoning this route and will wait for someone serious from Europe to get an exhaust.

Any plan to make an adaptive exhaust with some butterfly valves?

This.

The AWE exhaust for the 300 and 63 both have this option, why not the 450?

Is a nicer looking exhaust tip and rear diffuser a go for the C450? I knew you said earlier you were looking into it

Each model has different characteristics and tendencies. The C300 needed help via our SwitchPath™ technology to give it a proper attitude adjustment without compromise. The C63 needed valves to enable drivers to harness the intoxicating aggression while being able to cork it when needed -- it's a night and day difference with valves open vs valves closed on both models. We achieved a phenomenal soundtrack for the C450 with the implementation of our proprietary 180 Technology® -- while also being able to nail them at a killer price point (seriously, have you seen the prices?!). 180 Technology responds to throttle response -- it's civil while cruising, but bring the C450's attitude out in full force when you drop the hammer -- all while defeating the drone that the C450 was prone to emitting.

Nothing has been solidified as of yet, pal.

Pretty impressive, I have to say. I have watched all 3 exhaust videos multiple times, and I think the C450 touring have the greatest sound improvement over stock, compared to the C63 and the C300, and the price is very reasonable. Well done

Are you guys going to come out with a ecu tune for the 450? It would be nice to get an ecu and exhaust package tailor made for each other...

We haven't made any concrete decisions on this yet. Without DPs -- which is another topic of discussion on its own -- a tailored tune wouldn't be of much use. DPs for the 450 aren't on the priority list at the moment, but who knows what moves will be made later down the road.

Next up are our S-FLO Carbon Intakes

I think guys are looking to tune their cars, just for the sake of tuning. The car is awesome as it stands with its underrated 362hp and 384 tq. I cant imagine needing more as a daily driver. In my opinion, an upgraded exhaust is all the car needs, unless you plan on taking the car to the track.

It's never about 'needing' it's about wanting. Plus modding cars is fun in and of itself!

I'm with ya on this, I'm still up in the air about a tune, but I'll let my daily driving decide if I need that or not. Once I get my radar detector and tint on (after delivery), my most likely upgrade would be a throatier exhaust. I like the C450s sound, but feel like something a touch deeper would be great.

Most likely scenario is that I do neither tune or exhaust though since I plan to just sell it after 3 years and the terminal value of mods, I assume, is marginal. If I planned to keep it longer I'd be much more likey to do one or both.

I would strongly suggest the exhaust only, you will love the car for the 3 years u own it. Keep the stock exhaust, u can re install it when u r ready to trade the car, then sell the aftermarket exhaust for whatever you can get. Most tuning do not increase the resale value of the car, in fact, most times, it reduces the value, because maybe 80% of people looking for a newish used luxury car, will not be interested in a modified car. Once they hear about mods, they think about racing, a big turn off. Most likely you will have to settle for a price lower, (maybe significantly lower) than what you would normally get if the car was stock. I work in the car industry for many years, and I can tell you dealers hate to take cars that have been modified on trade.

I always recommend keeping OEM components. You just never know when you'll need them and having a "coulda, shoulda" moment when in a pinch is the worst.
