I hate this whenever i need a jump start and i can't get the cable in the trunk. It's almost pointless to have any kinda of power booster or jump start cable in the car, unless you are the one who jump starts others.....

In the CLK world, this is common. The key hasn't been used since the car left the factory, so the lock is less than cooperative. A little lube and a LOT of jiggling usually does the job. Opening the trunk with the key whenever a B service is done usually keeps the lock in working order.
Of course on a W208 CLK, there's a plan B.
The attached picture is of a W208 CLK. In the picture there is a red arrow. The arrow points to a plastic cover. On a W208 CLK, the owner removes that cover, and applies 12V positive to the wire under the cover. They apply a negative ground anywhere they can. At that point, the owner can use either their electronic key or the switch in the car to open the trunk. So . . . . . . . does the W203 have a cover in about the same spot? If so, will a W203 owner with a volt meter confirm that the wire under the cover sees 12V positive when the car is turned off?
Lastly, DO NOT EVER use that wire to jump the car.

My battery died and I had to go through the trunk to upen the hood. It can be opened from the outside with the mechanical key. Jiggle the little handle while turning the key to the left.

I'm sure gtr886 had his car jumped by now.
The problem here is he has his jump cable in the trunk and he has to get to it so he can jump the car. Now the car is locked, and can't get to the truck using the key. Key only open the front driver side and can pop the hood but doesn't open the truck . Seat can't fold down as release is in the trunk as well. Unless u have the ski pass-thru on the arm-rest, u are pretty much out of luck.
Not sure why our C doesn't let u open the truck thru key but my old E350 allow u to do so since the battery is at the trunk.

...a panty dropper...
Maybe your key holes for the trunk just have never been used and have built up corrosion from the weather and is difficult to turn or isnt turning all the way to the open point.
