C55: suspension upgrades?
I´m looking for a upgrade in suspension.
Bilstein,Koni?
Is there some others 'high end' non coilovers out there?
and which ones do you recomend?
(can´t fit coilovers, *sadface*)

you want expensive stuff KW is your choice
vill du va styv i korken, billigaste uppgradering är att köpa koni's gula dämpare i kombination med vogtlands fjädrar som ger en skön känsla på bilen.

what are you looking to get out of the upgrade? The easiest performance upgrade you could do right now is dump the 20"s.

20" wheels do not dictate your ability to fit coilovers. Its the width + offsets of your wheels that would dictate if you can use coilovers. Chances are, you can still fit coilovers w/ some spacers unless you're rocking a 9.5" + wide wheels.
Regardless - Adjustable Koni yellows are awesome.

No place for coilovernuts.
Everything has to be above the tire in that case.
and no such thing as i want to run a bit lower.
At rear there are no problems even thou i run 10" wide rims.

but it ALLOWS me to run lower with less suspensiontravel due to stiffnes.
Other question - at rear the lowest ones, at front? are they coming in different heights?

You can get spring pads from 1 - 4. 4 being the tallest pad. They are marked with little bumps.

I do know that, mine 8.5" at front has at it is now about 8mm between strut and rim.

Since you're on 20s and OEM springs your offset is probably somewhere near mid 30s. If you're looking to go lower and perfect that ride height w/ a perfect combo of dampening - coilovers are the best option. Space out till you have a front offset of 24-28 w/ your 8.5" wide fronts and you'll be able to fit front coilovers and the rear coilovers will not have clearance issues with your current rear wheels.
Also about interchangeable w203/w204 parts:

why i asked about W204 is that some coiloverbrands offers a alu topmount.
and in this way allows for more suspensiontravel in an W203, almost like a black series you know.

I understand what your concern about coilovers fitting. I felt the same way when installing mine. I didnt think anything would fit either.
I stand by my original post. COs are your best option. If you're running the proper sized tires for 20s(~225/30/20 or ~235/30/20), you will get the wheels to fit with the correct front offset of 24-27 while clearing the coilover springs/perch. Just imagine your wheels w/ a 10-12mm spacer installed - the wheel/tire will give the coilover springs enough clerance. You will poke by 10-12mm more, but those 10-12mm are all you need to clear the COs.
Lots of peeps talking about COs + wheels, etc here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...nt-thread.html

I will take some measurements this weekend to see if they can fit.
As is at this point my front wheels has ET43 and i can add some to that, but max 3-4mm
rims are 8.5" wide with 235/30-20.
Maybe i can roll out fender just slightly to get about 5-6mm of more space.
That just would be enough as the perch is 84mm.
But if everything will be located above the tire, even at the lowest setting on struts there will ofcourse be no problems

ET 43? Holy cow. That is a very high front offset. Surprised you can clear the OEM suspension.
I have ran 235/40/18 (same rolling diameter as your tire setup) on 18x8.5 ET 25 previously w/o any rubbing and your C55 has wider fenders than my standard w203. Im pretty certain you can fit a 15mm spacer and get yourself to ET 28 and fit coilovers. Worst case, a 20mm front spacer and 225/30/20 tires.
Good luck.

I live by a certain rule.
noway no how should the rims extend out from bodys limits.
And no way should it rub against fender.
And tirewalls should be unstretched.
Yup.. i´m living a hard life *lol*

Hey,,, good that you reacted on my ET43.
That made me thinking.
And,, i´m wrong
As my rims are ET35 and i´ve got 8mm spacer it will ofcourse be ET27
And i can add about 3-5mm without rubbing.
That makes our measurements line up to each other.
So i can run about ET22 as maximum, this would clear up my mess in my head.
Just to place an order then
Thank you TruTaing.
