clk63 Black Series seats in 202
Guys, I came across some genuine BS seats, unfortunately I could not resist
Stock C43 seats are 27.4Kg, the BS seat with BS rails weighs 13.1kg, so total saving of ~28kg
Of course no electrics but its ok I can always swap them back in if need be
Fitted in C43 :

that was a very cool find.
did you also get the passenger seat?
do you have the manual adjustment slider?
BS seat is it comfortable to sit?
let us know how it is to sit in them on long journeys?
how much did you have to pay for BS seat?
did you get it domestic in NZ or import from outside NZ?

The BS brackets(assuming same mounts as W209) do not fit directly into the W202,they are completely different having parallel flat mounts, however strong brackets are very easy to make for these. The seats came out of a local clk63bs and when I found them they were fitted to a 300kkm's 1994 W202 C280 amg(had factory fitted C36 kit, exhaust and monos), so I was able to buy the whole car for cheap and take out the seats which fitted directly into the C43 with custom(and certified) brackets already made!. unfortunately I had bitter sweet luck as the C280 722.424 trans died straight after I payed for it and before I even drove off the yard, I was hoping to replace the seats and sell on but it is looking grim now..
The seats are manual slide adjuster only(Recaro/MB joint part)ironically the shifter handle is a 202 parts number!. there is some adjustment by shifting bolt holes onto the bucket, they are comfortable and not very deep for bucket seats, though I am skinny so that helps a lot
I have both seats, unfortunately the drivers seat has some leather stitched on where you climb over to get in, maybe one day I will redo them in full black leather...it is very hard to get used bucket seats with no wear let alone BS seats in general!...the cost of these new from MB would be scary
Under the seat is genuine AMG labels with 209 and Recaro parts numbers

We didn't get the fixed mount buckets in the BS here in the US. That would be a sweet mod even for CLKBS owners.

Very easy to modify w202 passenger side manual seat rails from base w202 and sport edition.
I used two pass side rails: no height and back adjustment, only front & back.
total cost... around $30 from my nearest junk yard...

Thanks guys, I though most clkBS had these?
Zayed, I was surprised too the transaction happened very fast!!
Fredtga, Yes agreed regular 202 manual rails with modified supports will work, when you fitted yours did you need to locate the seat off centre towards the trans tunnel so the steering wheel was central?

My driver side was a Momo Start 2007 model and its overall width was almost like a regular w202 seat so the mounting was spot on.
The passenger seat was a narrow Bride LoMax for which i had to use some custom made adapters between the w202 rail and the bride seat rail.
Normally, bucket seats come with their side mounts which have multiple holes on the sides and bottom. In my case, all the holes were very wide oval shaped so adjusting them in correct position was not an issue.

I purchased seats with manual sliders also but they were going to be fitted back into the donor car, cost me $45nzd(~30 usd) for both so cheap!..however having looked at it further I think I may just use original electic rails, remove everything and just keep only the sliding motor in place

Yes good find
I may go for some cloth Recaro seats one day More comfortable than OE and cloth is preferable than leather in the summer months...

Yes I think cloth is good too however leather to match the C43 interior is tempting!!
I've found OE c43 seats have poor support in butt area so hoping the pole positions aren't any worse on longer journeys
Also quick update, you can disassemble the electric seats and keep one electic motor in place, the who setup actually weighs less than the BS brackets with custom mounts to 202 chassis.
Only problem is factory offset is 14mm towards the trans tunnel,so the BS seat brackets drop straight onto where the rail studs are on the outer side, so will remake the side brackets out of 6mm alloy and have them formed to suit the trans tunnel and stud issue.

can i ask how much does your car weigh?
i thought many times about gutting the C43 for weight but just cant bring myself to do it to such a rare car. but im glad someone else is doing it.
replacing stock seats for some recaros is not out of the question for me for both weight savings and just a better hold while at the track. as long as it didnt require much modification (as in... any! haha, i need to be able to do it in the driveway wihtout any additional parts... im lazy like that!)

Its ok I can go into manufacturing 202 OE pole position seat brackets
The seat basically has to sit within a ~+/- 6mm tolerance from factory location otherwise it is too close to trans tunnel when hard forwards, or to close to B piller when backwards, having it exactly on factory offset of 14mm gives 10mm clearance on B piller and fabric touches on tunnel when hard forwards...but this is not a common situation. also steering wheel is towards tunnel even in stock setup,to be comfortable I always found my knee rubbing against the tunnel, the pole position is better because it holds you off the tunnel.
This mod will also need seat buckles from w202 without seat sensors,Though Im not sure yet if this requires any recoding or if the buckles is plug and play with the pressure pad, I know there is resistance+diode involved there.

I am serious about getting some race seats in my car. I think I need to get back together with Fred and see if he can help me...
My *** is killing me with the stock seats...

Finally fitted these seats, the 202 seats are stressed meaning they take full impact shock from restraints, ended up using stock heavy duty electric rails, removed everything but the slider motor, made HD side brackets to suit the stock 14mm offset. Looks really clean when installed with plastic rails covers etc!.

The CLK63 BS seats are essentially a Recaro Pole position ABE seat, the differences being the foam around the buckle receiver is trimmed to allow recess, the buckle receiver holder is matching fabric instead of Velcro and AMG lable is embroidered rather than printed like the Recaro.
The ABE seat has more room around the hip/belt area, hence more suitable in a road car.
Originally I made the brackets from 5mm alloy, however because this is sufficient only for the seat, it still required steel 3mm strap from seat belt receiver and anchor to rails, unfortunately the studs on the rails are only so long, so not enough for 5mm alloy + 3mm strap. The end result was to go with 3mm steel brackets + 3mm strap, personally I don't think the anchor strap was needed with steel brackets, but this is how the 202 seat is designed so we copied it.
The end result with seat/rails etc complete weighed 15.5kg, that's 12Kg less per side over stock 27.5kg. If I could have gone with alloy brackets it would have been appox 14.3kg.
I took receiver from W211, it has nice long anchor with perfect curve right where it enters the seat - part #211 860 30 69

Thanks for the link Paul (from the other thread ). Looks like a super cool setup in everyway. I love BS and prefer them over any other kind of seat.
