WHAT THE HELL - C63 offers as good milage as my GLK 350
Purchased a GLK 350 for the wife a few months ago - just for the record, I was expecting at least 550 KM from a single tank! Hell no - its best result was a trip I made this weekend from Toronto to Montreal - 493K for a full tank. I was able to get it down to 10.9 L/ per 100KM. Normally its 400 to 420
The average fuel consumptions on this car for the last 6 months with close to 40K on it is 11.8 L/per 100KM
So in comparison my C63, give me at best 435KM on a single tank and my average is 12.1L/ per 100KM
So the GLK 350 is nearly half the engine size as the C63 with two less cylinders and I get nearly the same milage and fuel economy - utter rubbish!
I am selling the GLK and getting the diesel variant
What do you think about this!

I'm also shopping for a small SUV to replace my wife A4. If you dont care about speed, the 2.0T Q5 gave the best mpg in this segment, though it is less power.

there is very little fuel premium upgrading from MB V6 to V8. I have no idea why but benz V6s are so ridiculously thirsty compared to other brands. You might as well always go with the V8, and in some rare cases you can get better MPGs out of the V8 AMGs than you can the V6s (modded W210 E55 AMG is good example).

Yes it is crazy, my W210 E55 got 30+ on hwy haha ... try to figure that one out.
Certain mods lend themselves better to helping MPG, others hurt. Finding out the right combination to maximize fuel efficiency is the key to getting better gas mileage through modding. Avoid any fuel mods if you want to keep MPGs high. The second you do injectors gas mileage falls through the floor.

So how many miles will you drive (and fuel money saved) before you make up for the depreciation money lost trading in the GLK350 for the desmell

'14 911S (garage queen) '13 X3 (family hauler)
Just ordered the wife the new X3 (2nd gen)
Looked at everything else and the new x3 is a completely different animal from the last one.
Much smoother ride beautiful tech goodies and great fit and finish.
Plus, we're getting an ordered car in less than a month since they're made in the US.
Check out the new X3, it's bigger, better looking, better finishes and better gas mileage than the GLK--and drives like a BMW
And I wanted to get away from BMW, but they pulled me back in

MY ML63 cost 98 bux to fill up and gets about the same as my E55 9 City 20 HWY. Now this is in sport mode and spirated driving usually.

You have to consider the weight of the GLK also. That extra weight could be attributing to poor gas mileage.
I used to get 8MPG in my Escalade so the C63 is a real step up for me in regards to fuel consumption........When driving normal!!

You just need to drive the car smoothly and perhaps use cruise control on non-stop long trips, also I am talking about mid 70 mph average.

Not necessarily. Try the VW tiguan. It is a small SUV with better gas mileage. There are also some small SUV from GMC like the Arcadia with 30 plus MPG. The new Oddysei as well...

2013 Chevy 427 Torch Red
2009 C63 22,000 miles 2.5 years = 14.3 mpg from start
2010 GLK 350 51,000 miles 2 years = 19.7 mpg from start
Granted the C63 is driven differently with multiple track days at less than 5 mpg but my mileage on the GLK is better than I expected going in.

That is absolutely bull****. I get somewhere between 230 and 250miles in city on C mode under miserable conditions like altitude and 91 oct gas. That alone is close to 400 kilometers but I have done trips login well over 500 kilometers.
You probably drive heavy on the gas pedal because I a telling you that I get much better gas mileage than that and I am on 91 oct and altitude.

Maybe if you take your high heels off and lean into every once in awhile then you would know where im coming from
Why would i lie about getting bad fuel economy

My Q5 (similar weight) V6 - 3.2 gets 19.8 mpg average and close to 24mpg on highway.
That is the reason why I chose the Q over the GLK when I purchased it. I do not understand why the GLK gets so poog gas mileage.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound as a personal attack or anything. I am just pointing out that you should get better than that, at least I do, I get far better than 320km.
Are you driving on S mode all the time?, I drive on C mode all the time and light on the gas most of the times as well.
