2011 C63 AMG vs 2012 C63 AMG : which one do you prefer ?
Hi all,
I just want to get your opinion about this...
Which one do you prefer ?
2011 C63 AMG
2012 C63 AMG
Please give your reasons !
Current C63 owners, would you change yours for the 2012 one ?
I am not talking about the Coupé version, but about the Sedan only.
We can also discuss here about the technical differences, as for example,
the new MCT transmission instead of the 7G-Tronic.
Thanks guys !
Armen

I like the interior on the new one much more. I also love the fact that it has the MCT tranny. But, i still prefer the front exterior styling of the 2011.

I want to love the new one but I just can't! I think that black middle part of the lip throws you off! When I saw the old I fell in love with it right away!!! And I feel like the fogs dont belong there. But interior wise definitely the new one!!!

Same here- I love the interior on the new one but prefer the front end of the old one.
- Regardless the technology is going to be improved = New > Old
- Better tranny
- Improvements to the chasis
- Improvements to the suspension
- Better sat nav (???)
But hey who am I talk I just went on some mad mad mad modding spree (thanks to all of you on this forum) and now have to stick with my car....

To me, it seems that the exterior of the 2012 got consensual and rounded.
I guess I will miss the certain aggressiveness of the 2011 front but it is clear that
the interior has greatly evolved.
I am just waiting for the first road tests, especially about the MCT transmission.
Wondering if there's a big difference of quickness between the 7G and the MCT.

The 2012 interior is very nice and much better than the older models. The front end on the older models is much more aggressive. The MCT tranny is bleh. I hear loss of power from the MCT and worse results on the 1/4 track. That will be the big factor for me. If the MCT imrproves 1/4 times significantly I will make the jump.

Apparently, the performance remains the same.
On the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph), still 4.5 seconds and 4.4 with the P31.
As you said, I'm curious to know if they improved at higher speeds.

On the twisties I can see the MCT making up some improvements on the clock. This is where MB needs to get better anyhow.

Efficiency gets better but to me, the 7G-Tronic is a really good automatic gearbox.
Sure the MCT is sportier but will it be as smooth as the 7G-Tronic ?
Anyway, one thing which is obvious... the interior. Just sublime on the 2012 !
But I will miss the retractable GPS screen on the 2011...

2013 Nissan GT-R BE
Let break it down this way:
Exterior Design: 2011 > 2012, the new one looks too much like the M3 in my option.
Interior Design: 2012 > 2011, love the new design except no more pop-up screen which I love.
Technology: 2012 > 2011, no contest in this one as 2012 has all new Nav, iPod, cellphone, and internet integrations.
Mechanical: 2012 > 2011 EXCEPT that the MCT has been reported not able to do proper burn out, and this will be a big minus if you drag. However, general performance and handling will be better.
So that's 3 wins 1 lost, therefore, overall the 2012 C63 will be better as long as you can live with the new style and don't drag.
Hope this helps,
Sheep

Thanks for your opinion Sheep.
With the MCT you have a Race Start mode, the Launch Control.
But as you said, no possibility of burning.
Performance should be better but as we said, Mercedes announces
the same on the 0-60.
Maybe on a 0-120 mph some tenth of seconds will be gained.

I'm getting an E92 M3 next. Love my C63 though. The exterior on the 12 C is a bit more feminine.

That. I'm picking up my 2011 Friday. Maybe I'm vain, but I just can't justify switching over for all that 12 tech for something that I'm not instantly in love with looks wise. I wish they had kept the old front.

I'm going with the 2012. Having said that, I would really have to reserve judgement until seeing the 2012 in person . I do like the improved interior. Is it just me or does the 2012 look slightly smaller? Specifically in regard to the rear doors? It just seems a tad smaller. Perhaps it's just the photos.
