2011 C63 AMG vs 2012 C63 AMG : which one do you prefer ?

The exterior styling is a push. Until they flair the back wheel wells for decent sized rubber, they can change grills on it all they want and not make much of an impression.
The interior is superior. The old pop up nav is a bit dorky. I have one but not a fan of it. The software looks better on the new system too. I reserve judgement on the MCT tranny. On paper it should much better than the already very good tranny. Seems first reports are it's not good from the dig.

I love the 2012, although dealers are offering up some sick deals on some 2011's right now. like 7K off or something a loaded up one with the P31 development package. I'm thinking I rather just pay the MSRP and get into a 2012, MCT, better fuel economy (Supposedly) and the interior and newer headlights taillights, I'm a sucker for the latest toys, just like i'm a sucker for the latest blackberries haha

Thanks for your opinion Sheep.
With the MCT you have a Race Start mode, the Launch Control.
But as you said, no possibility of burning.
Performance should be better but as we said, Mercedes announces
the same on the 0-60.
Maybe on a 0-120 mph some tenth of seconds will be gained.

I recently bought a 2010 CPO C63, after a few days, decided that I liked the 2012 C63 better after a test drive. I lost a bit, but lesson learned. At the end of the day I have the car I really want.
Take them both for a spin, and decide for yourself if the subtle changes on the 2012 worth the extra coin.

I love the look of the '11 front end and hood. I also prefer the more aggressive side bolstering of the '11 front seats. Other than these few things, the '12 seems like a marginally improved car.

Yes, you can. Just hold the traction control button down until it's OFF, not in Sport Mode.
However, DO NOT DO DONUTS. Straight line burnouts, no problem...
Donuts, not a good idea... There's a fairly good chance that you will blow your Power Steering pump.
Google :C63 Power Steering pump fail...
I learned the hard way, after doing a couple donuts (lock to lock), my steering went completely stiff... but somehow miraculously, nothing broke and it was fine after a minute or 2. That said, I will NEVER do that again~

Hi all,
I would like to get the opinion of people who owned both the 2011 and the 2012 face-lifted.
I do have several questions :
- which one of the two models is the most comfortable ? I mean, has the ride quality/suspension been revised/improved for more comfort on the 2012 ?
- could you please tell me if the engine sound outside and inside the car is louder on one of the 2 models ? Seems that the 2011 is a bit louder, can you confirm ? Maybe more soundproof on the 2012 face-lift inside ?
- does the MCT gearbox really improve fuel consumption compared to the 7G-Tronic Speedshift Plus of the 2011 ? How much Liter/100 km could be saved ?
- is the steering feedback different or it is only the esthetic changing of the steering wheel ?
About the MCT, the only thing I'm fearing is the lack of roundness of the engine sound when changing gear, seems that there is small "explosion/fart" (maybe only in Sport+) when there is a gear changing.
I like the 7G-Speedshift Plus because it is so round and smooth when changing gear, I guess it is because it is a pure automatic gearbox with the torque converter, while there is no on the MCT. I've never test driven a MCT, for sure it would be comfortable for daily driving, with fast shifting in Comfort mode as well.
I'd be very thankful to who could answer me precisely. Please answer if you have driven both of them, to explain me the differences. The major thing for me is the engine sound, I don't know if both of them are equally loud (stock).
Thank you very much,
Armen

Hi all,
I would like to get the opinion of people who owned both the 2011 and the 2012 face-lifted.
I do have several questions :
- which one of the two models is the most comfortable ? I mean, has the ride quality/suspension been revised/improved for more comfort on the 2012 ?
I think the 2012 feels a bit softer and is better on rough roads.
- could you please tell me if the engine sound outside and inside the car is louder on one of the 2 models ? Seems that the 2011 is a bit louder, can you confirm ? Maybe more soundproof on the 2012 face-lift inside ?
I haven't noticed a difference in sound from my 2010 to 2012
- does the MCT gearbox really improve fuel consumption compared to the 7G-Tronic Speedshift Plus of the 2011 ? How much Liter/100 km could be saved ?
I didn't notice a gain in MPG until I got a tune where it seems to have bumped up 2 MPG or so.
- is the steering feedback different or it is only the esthetic changing of the steering wheel ?

It does make a bit of a "fart" sound when shifting but personally I love the sound!

Overall I like the MCT much better than the 7G tranny. The shifts are definitely more crisp but on the other had it can get a bit jerky at low speeds at times. It doesn't bother me though.

I have a great suggestion. Why don't you just go TEST DRIVE a 2012 C63 and find out for yourself?? Are you telling me that you are going to decide by reading someone's input vs. test driving it for yourself??
TO answer a few of your questions..
- does the MCT gearbox really improve fuel consumption compared to the 7G-Tronic Speedshift Plus of the 2011 ? How much Liter/100 km could be saved ?
If your worried about gas mileage, DONT get a C63, get a Prius or a Civic.
- is the steering feedback different or it is only the esthetic changing of the steering wheel ?
TEST DRIVE THE EFFING CAR
About the MCT, the only thing I'm fearing is the lack of roundness of the engine sound when changing gear, seems that there is small "explosion/fart" (maybe only in Sport+) when there is a gear changing.
Yes, it does FART... in any Mode and it's loud, again, TEST DRIVE THE EFFING CAR
The bottom line is, TEST DRIVE THE EFFING CAR
Based on your questions, this car doesn't sound right for you...
You sound like you're 15 years old, and will probably end up killing yourself and whoever is on the road near you
I'm sorry and I am not one who usually bashes another member, but these questions are just ridiculous.. You asked, and I gave you my opinion
Oh, before I go, if you're FEARING anything, my suggestion would be to walk or ride a bike...
... GAS MILEAGE... LMFAO... You've got to be kidding me... Gas MILEAGE.. BAHAHAHAHHAHA

I learned the hard way, after doing a couple donuts (lock to lock), my steering went completely stiff... but somehow miraculously, nothing broke and it was fine after a minute or 2. That said, I will NEVER do that again~
