I'm prettty sure thats the Carbonio. If its old and you can't get anything done about it I would consider painting it to match the car. That would look better and keep the improved air flow. Just a suggestion.

That sure looks like a Carbonio. I have 70K Klm on mine and 25-30 track days on it (Serous heat) Mine has greened a little but nothing like that. It would take some very serious heat to make it go that yellow.
Keith had a great suggestion......

BO Knows. Carbonio Airbox Turning Yellow?
I called them before I purchased mine and asked about that. They said it would not turn yellow & if I had any problems to call them & they would correct the problem.
Yours is definitely yellow I would call them and complain...

For the $$ we paid it should not do that.

I have seen airboxes turn yellow due to alot of heat built up over the years but never seen one this bad. I would call Carbonio to see if they can replace it or just paint it.

Is there a clear coat on there? Looks like they may have used a lower quality (or at least a lower heat resistant) coating of some sort on there?
Maybe a chemical reaction with some sort of cleaner used on it?

That looks really bad. I think the heat is caused by the Renntech Stage 2 tune that the car has:
This 2008 C63 is a RENNTECH Stage 2 Sports Car. This RENNTECH STAGE 2 ($8990 Upgrade) C63 AMG is equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.2-Liter that delivers a massive 545 HP along with 510 LB-Ft of Torque!

Carbonio Airboxes Turning Yellow
This has been covered in at least 6 threads across multiple sections of the forum. The Carbonio Carbon Fiber products tend to turn yellow after some time. I've seen them turn yellow in as fast as 6 months and as slow as 2 years. This has happened on every single Carbonio product I've seen at the track from various members in the past 3 years. It is only a matter of time until it changes color, but it will eventually turn yellow (sometimes it will turn light greenish first).
In comparison, I've seen RENNtech carbon fiber air boxes that have been on a 55k engine for 5+ years and they looked almost brand new

Pretty sure it's not the OP's issue - I noticed that yesterday too when I saw the car in question on eBay.

Actually, I have their carbon fiber engine cover, and it has yellowed a little by just sitting in the garage for one year. I never put it on the car. Sure there were some sun exposure in the garage, but most of the time, conditions were ideal. I have to say though that my engine cover is not as half as bad as those pictures.

Most probably cheap resin used during the prepreg process.
I had good results in restoring carbon motorcycle parts with the following method.
Sand the part with 600 grit sand paper, take your time making sure not to damage the weave.
Mix 20% black and 80% clear heat resistant paint and apply two coats. Then another coat of 100% clear.
Although it'll look a little bit darker, the fabric structure is still visible.

RENNtech's carbon fiber airboxes won't change color much (or at least I haven't seen one that have yet). As I mentioned earlier, at many of our track events, I would see some RENNtech air boxes on several E55s, some of which have been installed for 5+ years (and we all know the 55k engine generates an incredible amount of heat), yet the carbon fiber airboxes looked almost brand new (no color yellowing, no peeling, no cracking). On the same car, the person would have the carbonio carbon fiber tubes, and they looked yellowish/greenish/discolored compared to the RENNtech carbon fiber pieces (installed under the same hood on the same E55).

AMG & RR
Call me crazy but unless the car is Rennteched out or a C74, the big black RENNtech logo on top really looks strange to me.
Wish they had it w/o that......
