Hands up those who busted power steer pump?
I have busted power steering pump in my C63 after 18,000km. Can I ask other for members who have had similar incident to put their hands up here ? Have heard that this is a reasonably common problem. Please indicate, thanks

Not for the C63, but I just toasted mine the other day on my SL55 and my bother 2 weeks ago on his CLS55. Haven't done any cross checking of the part numbers, but I would at least guess Mercedes is using the same manufacture for there power steering pumps for many models of Mercedes.

FYI - I went to Mercedes Benz World in England and went out on the track with an instructor (he was driving). I asked him what failures they had on their cars because they drive them so hard all the time. He said the only issue was power steering pumps failing.

also happened to me in 18k ! and it was related to very bad design of weistec steering pump tank 
install tank from e55 and relocate it ! and feel difference immediately !
didn't make extreme drift or full turns !!! just stopped work....

Never busted my power steering pump but my steering gets really loose after like 20 mins of driving. Should I flush the steering fluid or can the problem be something else?

I've noticed my steering wheel stiffens up sometimes. I did some burnouts yesterday (once spun out of control) and felt like it was a bit stiffer than usual. What are some symptoms of a potential failure? And what's the best way to go on addressing the issue?
