Arkym Vendor issues

So I ordered a part for my car. I paid $300 for this part, up front, the second half due on delivery. That was 4 months ago. They said it would take 2-3 weeks. Every couple weeks, they give me an update saying it'll be another 2-3 weeks. They've asked for my address 3-4 times. What a nightmare. What are my options for recourse?

This vendor is on the manufacturer's site (Arkrym) as being approved. I'm not certain what to do, and I'm losing patience.

Wow 4 months? And asking for your address 3-4 times? Something is definitely wrong. Which vendor?

I'm going to hold on to the vendors' name until I hear back from Arkym. No sense in sullying their name if it's Arkym's fault. They are on Arkym's website, however, so they must be legit.

Yikes - what a PIA. I ordered my ARKYM lip and diffuser through Ivan at DCT Motorsports and they were super fast and responsive. Just an FYI for the future...good luck!

3 weeks has taken 4 months, so far. Excuse after excuse after excuse. They said they're giving me free shipping and 15% off, though.. but still. Total nonsense. I just want the friggin lip already!!!!! I'm so unbelievably frustrated.

So, it's been five or six days since I wrote Arkym. No response whatsoever.

damn that sucks. They make a good looking lip too. sad to hear the customer service isn't up to par. hope it works out for you!

you can try asking them on their facebook wall too.

https://www.facebook.com/people/Arky...461625?sk=wall

they have a twitter account, but it doesn't look like they even bother with it.

That sounds frustrating. Have you try complaining to BBB? I've had some good result in getting vendors to reply through BBB.

This is what you get with third rate vendors. Unfortunatey you get what you pay for.

What makes them third rate? Who are "first rate vendors"? I'm paying the same price as I would at other vendors. Do you mean third rate manufacturers, rather?

Sounds like more effort than it's worth? Unless they play to keep my deposit, of course...

What makes them third rate? Well..for starters..they're not even bothering to respond to you. I don't know where they get their parts made, but like a lot of companies out there, they're getting them from China. Arkym is not the only one to have complaints, but the common theme seems to be where the parts are sourced.

There aren't many first rate vendors. You just have to go with someone who has a well established rep, preferrably across several platforms, and that other companies will vouch for.

This is one reason why I won't go direct to just about any manufacturer. Instead, I'll use someone like ACGSD who is well experienced and can be the middle man in case there is an issue.

? It's less effort than continuing to emailing the vendor. It's a simple online form on BBB. They just contact vendor for you. Most time, vendors pay more attention to BBB than email from customers.
